Reading the Bible must not merely instruct us or give us greater knowledge, but must, above all, bring us to practice and live what we learn from it. And so, thank God who has given us His Word and who also gives us the grace to follow it. this reading must bring about in us an increase of faith; it must cause a more firm hope in the promises of God and in the merits of Jesus Christ. It must lead to an increase of love for love and for our neighbor, in such a way that, little by little, our spirit becomes one with the spirit of Jesus Christ to the point of having His very own thoughts, desires and love towards His heavenly Father and towards men.
