June 21, Feast day of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, Religious

Born in 1568, St Aloysius was the son of a high dignitary in the Spanish court. Love for prayer and a life of purity attracted him to the Jesuits. he entered the Society of Jesus at the age of sixteen and died a holy death at the age of twenty three, because of his devoted care of the plague victims.

He is the patron of the Youth. In the last letter to his mother he wrote: Take care not to insult God's loving kindness by mourning for a dead one living face to face with God. Our parting will not be for long; we shall see each other in heaven.
